Portable Oxygen Concentrator
Passengers are allowed to bring a Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) with them on board. Following devices are allowed by Air Iceland:
• AirSep Lifestyle
• AirSep freestyle (Only devices that are marked RTCA/DO-160D Section 21 Category M Compliant)
• Inogen One
• SeQual eclipse
• Respironics, EverGo
The use of compressed oxygen is allowed during all phases of flight, provided that the equipment in use is placed under the seat like any other luggage during taxi, takeoff and landing.
Oxygen compressors do not affect the rules regarding number of hand baggage on board.
When booking a flight it must be stated that the passenger needs to use a POC on board.
The passenger must also present a signed physician note stating:
• The user of the device has the physical and mental ability to see, hear and understand the warning signs of a device and is able, without assistance, to take appropriate measures to respond to these warnings.
• Information about whether you need oxygen for all or part of the trip.
• Specifies the maximum oxygen flow rate corresponding to the pressure in the cabin of the aircraft under normal conditions.
The passenger must also have this physician note during the flight and present it to the crew if he is asked about it. You can obtain this form at the company’s website.
Passenger may only use creams and ointments that are approved and safe for use with oxygen. The passenger must have a sufficient amount of extra batteries for the flight and allow for unexpected delays. The passenger must make sure that the extra batteries stored in the luggage is packed in a way that there is no risk of short circuit.
The company can unfortunately not provide oxygen compressors or batteries for them.
Air Iceland cannot guarantee an allergen free environment onboard our aircraft. Therefore we strongly encourage passengers with severe allergies that can result in anaphylaxis to bring an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen®) and any other medications they may need.
The meals offered on Air Iceland flights may contain nuts or peanut products, such as nut spread, almonds. Trace elements from peanuts may be found in other meals.
In addition, tree nuts (e.g., almonds) may be found in meals on board. Unfortunately it‘s not possible to remove tree nuts, fish, or shellfish from the cabin.
In the case of severe peanut allergy, our cabin crew can make an allergy announcement on board asking other passengers on the flight not to consume foods that contain peanuts. Please contact Air Iceland service desk at +354 570 3030 or +44
2078741025 and submit a doctor´s certificate at least 48hrs before departure to request an allergy announcement.
We do however wish to stress that Air Iceland can in no way restrict other passengers from bringing or consuming their own food, on the aircraft, that may contain peanuts or other allergens.
For that reason it’s possible to find traces of peanuts on seats cushions, arm rests, tray tables, or elsewhere in the cabin.
